Move The Booty: Telltale Signs You Should Get Your Sweat On

Posted by Sarah Thaler on

Exercise is a key factor in living a healthy lifestyle. But what happens if you sit 8+ hours a day? Here are a few telltale signs you sit too much and need to incorporate a little more exercise into your daily routine:

1) You’re Constantly Tired

Even if you are getting enough sleep and eating right, you may still be sleepy. You should think about adding Cubii to your daily routine so you can move even while sitting. By doing just 20 minutes of moderate exercise three times a week, you can increase your energy levels by 20 percent.

“I love [Cubii] and brag about the energy I have all afternoon. No more 3pm foggy feeling!” ~ Deanna

2) You’re Suddenly Experiencing Pain

After a long night sleep, you wake up with aches and pains all over. We’ve all been there. While you might be tempted to wait it out and not exercise, trainers actually suggest moving to untangle those knots. By moving, you’re loosening tense muscles and joints and getting blood flowing to the area of your body which is experiencing pain. I’m not saying you go run a 5k but while at work, hop on your Cubii and pedal for a few hours. Say hello to some pain relief.

3) You’re Stressed

Stop stressing out. Easier said than done. From 1983 to 2009, stress increased 18% for women and 24% for men. Walking, running or Cubii-ing for 20 to 30 minutes 3-4 times a week is enough to decrease your stress and anxiety.

“[I purchased a Cubii] because while I’m in school for my Masters, I spend countless hours seated in my office doing research and writing papers. I noticed I constantly am shaking my legs and feeling restless. I bought the silver Cubii, and once I put it under my desk, I no longer feel so restless. I don’t pump constantly, but I do sporadic spurts as I’m thinking or reading. It’s such a great relief to not be worrying about blood stasis and getting a blood clot while just sitting at the desk dormant.” ~ Emily

4) You’re Not Sleeping Well

If you’re struggling to fall asleep, you may need to move more throughout the day. Getting more activity throughout the day will help you get more Z’s. Don’t believe me? A research study by Northwestern University found that insomniac middle-aged and older participants who exercised (along with other conditions) got 1.25 more hours of sleep.

5) You Need Help Resisting Temptation

You’re hitting that mid-afternoon slump and staring at the clock waiting to be free from your desk. This tends to be the time when you are most vulnerable to unhealthy snack temptations or if you’re a smoker, are bored and go for a smoke break. So instead of reaching for the bag of chips or cigarette, get some exercise in and Cubii. Research shows that the endorphin rush that comes with exercise works in the same way addictive substances do. When you Cubii, you’re killing two birds with one stone: you’re burning calories and distracting yourself from unhealthy cravings.

How to get more energy, stress less and get a better night’s sleep.. exercise!
